PM-22 Personally Identifiable Information Quality Management
Program Management
Description
Develop and implement organizational policies and procedures that address the quality of personally identifiable information. Ensure policies and procedures address the steps that the organization takes to confirm the accuracy and relevance of personally identifiable information throughout the information life cycle.
Supplemental Guidance
The quality of personally identifiable information can impact the ability of organizations to make accurate determinations about individuals and can create privacy risks when inaccurate or outdated information is maintained, disseminated, or used in decision-making. Establishing policies and procedures to address the quality of PII helps organizations proactively manage data quality issues and mitigate the risk of unauthorized or inappropriate use of inaccurate PII.
